I started a book that I couldn’t put down,
I kept on readin’ to New York City,
The Statue of Liberty was oh-so-pretty,
With my nose in the book, next thing I know,
We were out in the middle of Ohio,
We got to Chicago, saw the Sears Tower,
I was doin’ a hundred pages an hour, uh-huh…

From the north to the south, the east to the west,

From the Mississippi to the wide prairie,
Where the buffalo roam at the library,
We were makin’ good time, I was readin’ my book,
Up the Rocky Mountains, we stopped for a look,
But a book is such a fascinatin’ travel companion,
That I didn’t look up when we hit the Grand Canyon,
I finished that book in Californ-i-a,
I was readin’ all across the USA, uh-huh!

Hi! My name is Steve Blunt. I’m a part-time music teacher, part-time singer/storyteller whose job is more full-time fun than most grown-ups are allowed to have. I started creating songs for children back in the mid-90’s, while working as a middle-school English teacher and raising a young daughter. Now I have four CD’s of (mostly) funny songs for kids & families. "Hang On, Henry!" (2002) and "Outta School!" (2007) are both Parents' Choice "Approved" Award Winners.

These days, I do a lot of performing at schools and libraries in New Hampshire (where I live) and throughout New England. In addition to original compositions, my shows feature traditional American and multicultural material that appeals to a wide audience.
